About Vaanii
Vaanii helps children learn the Gujarati alphabet through interactive mini-games, quizzes, and letter-tracing activities. It is designed for young learners at home.
A parent creates the account and sets up a profile for each child. Vaanii contains no advertising, takes no photographs of your child, and collects no location data. See our Privacy Policy for the full picture.
Frequently Asked Questions
Getting started
Do I need an account?
You can try Vaanii as a guest and play the first set without signing in. To save your child’s progress, unlock more sets, and use the app on another device, you create a free account with your mobile number, email, or a Google or Apple sign-in.
The account is the parent’s, not the child’s. You will be asked to confirm you are the parent or legal guardian.
Why do you ask for my child’s age?
To pitch the content, and to group learning statistics into broad age bands — with names and everything else stripped out — so we can see which letters children of a similar age find hard. We ask for the age in years only, never a date of birth, and never your child’s photograph.
Does Vaanii need an internet connection?
Yes. Vaanii needs a connection to sign in, to check your subscription, to download learning content, and to keep your child’s progress safe across devices.
Can more than one child use the same device?
Yes, on plans that allow more than one profile. Each child gets their own profile, and each profile keeps its own progress, rewards and quiz results independently.
Is there any advertising in the app?
No. Vaanii contains no advertisements of any kind, and no advertising software.
Subscriptions and payment
How do I cancel my subscription?
You cancel through your app store, because that is where the subscription lives:
- Android: Google Play → your profile → Payments and subscriptions → Subscriptions → Vaanii → Cancel.
- iOS: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Vaanii → Cancel.
Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date. You keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for.
Will my subscription renew automatically?
Yes. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period at the then-current price, unless you cancel first. Google or Apple charges your store payment method within 24 hours before each renewal. Prices shown to users in India include GST.
How do I get a refund?
Refunds are handled by Google Play and Apple under their own policies, and we honour any refund they grant. If you think you were charged in error, email us and we will help you pursue it.
What does “coming soon” mean on a plan?
It means that feature is not available yet and we are not promising a date. Please subscribe based on what the plan includes today, which is described at the point of purchase.
Progress, privacy and data
Where is my child’s data stored?
Summary progress — the level reached, per-letter practice results, quiz outcomes, rewards and daily minutes — is saved to our servers so it survives a lost or replaced phone.
The detailed round-by-round record — every individual question and answer — stays only on your device and is never uploaded.
In guest mode, nothing about your child leaves the device at all. See the Privacy Policy for the full list.
Does the speaking practice record my child?
The speaking exercises capture your child’s voice while they speak and send it to a speech-recognition service to check pronunciation. On Android devices with Google services this is the recogniser built into the device. On iPhone and iPad — where Apple’s built-in recogniser does not support Gujarati — and on Android devices without Google’s recogniser, the audio goes through our server to Sarvam AI, a speech-recognition provider in India.
We never store your child’s voice. We keep only how many minutes of speech practice each child has used in the current month. The feature is optional, you consent to it separately, and the rest of the app works fully without it.
How do I delete a profile, or my whole account?
You can delete an individual child profile from within the app. That child and everything they have earned — their stars, progress and badges — is removed straight away and permanently; the rest of the account is untouched.
To delete everything, go to Settings → Delete Account. We confirm with a one-time code, and then it is erased immediately — your account, every child profile and all of their learning data. This cannot be undone, so please be sure before you confirm. If you only want to stop us saving new progress, withdraw your consent instead; that is reversible.
Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription bought through Google or Apple — cancel that separately in your app store.
Can’t get into the app? You can also request deletion by email. See Delete Your Account for how, and for what we keep afterwards.
Can I withdraw my consent?
Yes, at any time, from Settings in the app — as easily as you gave it. Withdrawing stops us processing your child’s learning data: progress stops being saved to your account and reports stop updating. It does not by itself erase what is already on our servers — if you want that erased, delete the account instead. You can give consent again whenever you like and carry on where you left off. We explain all of this on screen before you confirm.
Can I correct a profile name I entered wrongly?
Yes. Profile details can be edited in the app at any time.
How do I move my child’s progress to a new device?
Sign in with the same account on the new device and the progress comes down automatically. How many devices you can use at once depends on your plan; signing in on a new device beyond that limit signs out an older one.
Troubleshooting
Before you reinstall: if you are signed in, your child’s progress is safe on our servers and will come back when you sign in again. If you are using Vaanii as a guest, everything is stored only on this device and reinstalling will erase it — sign in first if you want to keep it.
The app won’t open, or closes unexpectedly
- Fully close the app (swipe it away from the app switcher) and open it again.
- Restart your device.
- Check your app store for a Vaanii update and install it if one is available.
- Make sure your device has some free storage space.
- If it still won’t open, email us with your device model and OS version.
“No connection” or the app won’t get past the loading screen
- Check that your device is online — open any website to confirm.
- If you are on public or hotel Wi-Fi, it may need you to sign in on a browser page first. Try mobile data instead.
- Turn Airplane Mode on and off, then reopen the app.
- If your network blocks some sites, try a different network.
I’m not receiving the one-time code
- Check the number or email address you entered, including the country code.
- Wait a full minute — codes can be delayed at busy times — then use “Resend”.
- For email, check your spam or promotions folder.
- If it still doesn’t arrive, try the other sign-in method, or email us.
Audio isn’t playing
- Check that your device isn’t on silent, and turn the volume up.
- Disconnect any Bluetooth headphones or speakers that may be capturing the sound.
- Close and reopen the app.
Speaking practice isn’t working
- Check that the app has microphone permission in your device settings.
- Confirm your plan includes speaking practice, and that you agreed to it when setting up.
- Check your internet connection — pronunciation checking needs one.
- Make sure nothing else is using the microphone, and try again somewhere quieter.
My subscription isn’t showing in the app
- Make sure you are signed in to the same account you bought it with.
- Check that the store account on the device is the one that made the purchase.
- Close and reopen the app to let it re-check with the store.
- If it still doesn’t appear, email us with the date of purchase and your order number.
Progress or a profile seems to be missing
- Check whether a different profile is selected — each child’s progress is stored separately.
- Confirm you are signed in to the right account.
- If the progress was made as a guest and the app was reinstalled, it cannot be recovered.
- Contact us if it still doesn’t appear, and tell us what you were doing when it went missing.
Tracing or touch controls aren’t responding
- Clean the screen and remove any thick screen protector or case edge that overlaps the display.
- Close and reopen the app.
- Restart the device.
Report a Bug or Suggest a Feature
We read every message and genuinely welcome suggestions — new games, additional letters or words, or anything that would make Vaanii more useful for your child.
Email contactus@dreamcraftersinnovations.com. For bug reports, please tell us:
- Your device model and operating-system version
- What you were doing when the problem happened
- What you expected, and what happened instead
- A screenshot or screen recording, if you can capture one
For schools
There is a separate Vaanii School edition for classroom tablets. If you are a school interested in deploying it, email contactus@dreamcraftersinnovations.com with a little about your school and how many students you have in mind. We’re happy to help with rollout and to answer procurement or data-protection questions.
Privacy
Vaanii is built for children and we take that seriously. No advertising, no photographs of your child, no location data, and we never use a child’s learning data to target advertising. Read the full Privacy Policy and our Terms & Conditions.
